Since prehistory, the winter solstice has been a significant time of year in many cultures and has been marked by festivals and rituals. 

It marked the symbolic death and rebirth of the Sun; as the shortest day of the year (21st December) it marks the gradual waxing of daylight hours.

It’s a time of year where we gather to reflect, celebrate, honour and share our blessings. As we celebrate the return of the light, it is essential to take the time to spiral within to acknowledge our shadow self and the wisdom it shares with us so we can help bring the light of awareness into the darkness. 

In honouring yourself, you honour all life as part of the whole.

Join me for this winter solstice celebration ceremony where together through deep reflection, shamanic sound healing and a creative ceremony crafting and filling biodegradable boats in giving gratitude for the year gone by and opening ourselves to new blessings in the year ahead. We will then perform a sacred ritual with the waters as we release our boat filled intentions into the river our offering.
